Martin is a name written in Czech calendar on 11th of November. St. Martin is celebrated on this day and all men called Martin celebrate with him. St. Martin was born in 316 and died on 8th of November 397. His funeral was on 11th of November. St. Martin had a white horse and his white horse is a symbol of coming white winter in Czech.
All Martins and some other people celebrate this saint´s day a little bit. Friends meet together and go out or stay home to eat a roasted goose called martinská and drink young wine (the first this year) called svatomartinské.
Martin (Vacek) was our ancestor name too.
